OCULAR CYANOACRYLATE EXPOSURE
When faced with the task of managing ocular cyanoacrylate exposure, eyelid
adhesions are usually the greatest source of aggravation for both the patient
and the health care provider. The initial management should include warm fluid
irrigation through any available eye opening, as this may decrease the
likelihood of corneal abrasions (especially if performed within 15 minutes of
exposure). Use of a warmed 3% sodium bicarbonate solution to wash eyes
repeatedly may assist in aiding more rapid removal of the adhesive.
