[情報] Buddhist music, chantings and mindfu …
Gaya Youth would like to invite those who enjoy music & singing to join us
for a special gathering. Through meditative, healing music, we will learn to
appreciate the beauty of chanting and water the seeds of joy and happiness.
We will also enjoy the music of silence, learning from Ven. Thich Nhat Hanh's
Mindfulness meditation practice, to purify and nourish our body & mind. Our
programs include: Introduction to Plum Village Mindfulness practice, Guided
Mediation, Walking Mediation, Tea Meditation, Dharma Sharing, etc. Together
we will enjoy a few hours of being together renewing and nourishing ourselves,
with joy and compassion.
Ven. Thich Nhat Han was born in 1926, in Vietnam. He became a Buddhist monk
at age 16 and has worked to renew Buddhism and promote peace his whole life.
His life long efforts to generate peace and reconciliation moved Martin Luther
King, Jr. to nominate him for the Noble Peace Prize in 1967. His teaching on
Mindfulness has been widely integrated and influential in Western society.
Mindfulness helps to generate peace in oneself, and in the world; it begins
with mindful breathing. With continuous practice, our mindfulness energy
will naturally deepen; while walking, we know that we're walking, while
sitting, we know that we're sitting, while eating, we know that we're eating.
We become aware of our actions and thoughts when we're not getting lost in
the past and future, dwelling happily in the present moment.
