第二屆全球大學青年領袖高峰會 活動簡章
一、 主旨
為促進台灣大學生之國際視野,及協助外國大學生融入中文社會,本營隊採國際高峰會形
式,探討全球趨勢及研議國際重大議題,並藉此凝聚世界和平之願景。
二、 活動主題
當前「全球暖化」及「毀滅性武器擴散」議題引起世人關注,本屆活動特以「人類文明的
末日?!」為主題,提出由一群諾貝爾得主於1947年設計的「世界末日鐘」為警示,提醒
世人人類文明只剩倒數5分鐘,呼籲關注全球暖化及核武擴散的問題!

六、 報名訊息
(一) 招收對象:本國籍大學生、研究生及35歲以下青年60人,外國籍35歲以下青年60
人。
(二) 報名時間:5月14日至6月29日止。
(三) 報名方式:請至領袖會網站報名http://www.wlef.org
(四) 錄取資格:大會秘書處將事先測試本國籍學生之英語溝通能力
(五) 繳費方式:俟收受大會錄取暨繳費通知後繳費,逾期未繳費者視同放棄。

七、 活動費用
(一) 本國籍每人4,000元(包含食宿、課程、保險費用),本會學員2,000元。
(二) 外國籍免費,但須預繳1,000元保證金,全勤後退還。
八、 活動特色
(一) 研議全球議題:核武及全球暖化為當前最迫切之議題
(二) 仿真國際角力:外交代表團、各國雙邊會談
(三) 中外人士與會:台灣學員及外籍學員各半
(四) 模擬國際會議:國際會議議程、大會表決
(五) 實際參訪機構:能源及環境機構之參訪學習
九、 活動方式
(一)活動成員:
方式:台灣學生入選後,採3人一組。該組於營隊中將與其他三位外籍學生,共同組成
某一國家之「外交代表團」。
(二)本屆國際議題及表決題目:
議題1:聯合國是否應全面禁止「核武」研發,以遏止人類文明毀滅?(贊成vs.反對)
議題2:聯合國是否應於2010年,全面強制各國採用「生質燃料」,以遏止「全球暖化
」趨勢?(贊成vs.反對)

2007 Global Youth Leadership Summit
Peace: from Inner to Global

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

SCOPE:
Inspired by the ideal of world peace, this conference takes the form of an
international summit and will focus on some significant international issues.
It will be comprised of multiple educational workshops, mock UN sessions, a
model international conference, and field trips. Participants will take on
roles of leadership as diplomats, decision makers, advocates, or evaluators.
The summit aims to broaden the horizons of college students in international
affairs and also to assist foreign students in blending in with Taiwanese
society.
ACTIVITY THEME:
"Global warming" and "proliferation of mass destruction weapon (MDW)" concern
every people on earth. This year's camp will circle around the theme, "The
End of Human Civilization," with the symbol of "Doomsday Clock," which is
presented by a group of Nobel winners in 1947 to call for everyone's
attention to face the problem.
DATES: 16th to 19th August 2007 (Thursday through Sunday)
LOCATION: Yuan Ze University, 135, Far-East Rd., Chung-Li, Taoyuan, Taiwan
ELIGIBILITY:
◎ College or graduate students of Taiwan nationality 35 years old or
younger (60 slots reserved). [Applicants are required to take a preliminary
English capacity test.]
◎ College or graduate students of Foreign nationality 35 years old or
younger (60 slots reserved).
REGISTRATION:
Applicants are to sign up through website of World Leadership Education
Foundation. (www.wlef.org) Submission deadline is June 29th, 2007.
A payment notice will be sent via postal mail after the registration closure;
late payment may result in the cancellation of enrollment.
COSTS (boarding, lodging, curriculum and insurance included):
◎For domestic students: NT$ 4,000/person (member of WLEF: T$ 2,000/person)
◎For foreign students: Completely FREE (a refundable deposit NT$ 1,000 is
required. The deposit will be returned after full attendance in the program. )
PROGRAM DETAILS:
The summit will include but not be limited to:
◎ A model international conference: Participants will research into a
country, take on a role as a national leader, investigate international
issues, via debating, deliberating, and consulting; and finally solutions to
world issues.
◎ A model UN: Participants will take on a role as a UN member nation, become
involved in debates on international subjects, and elect member nations.
VOTING TOPICS OF 2007 Global Youth Leadership Summit
TOPIC ONE: Should UN ban the research and development of "nuclear weapon" to
prevent human civilization from distinction?
TOPIC TWO: Should UN force every nation to adopt the using of "Biofuel" to
fight the crisis of global warming?
◎ The mixed attendance of domestic and foreign students: Participants will
experience a complete submergence in an English-speaking environment and
multi-national cultural changes. (In each diplomat group of a designed nation
consists of three Taiwan students and three foreign students.)
◎ Field Trips: Participants will visit government offices, industries and
academic institute's and explore their operations in-depth.
