[訃聞] James Lock, Decca engineer, has died.
"James Lock was a star among stars. He started his career as a trainee for
the International Broadcasting Corporation in 1955. One of his earliest
tasks was to arrange a playback session for Sir Thomas Beecham. He became
chief engineer of Saga Records and in 1963 joined the Decca engineering team
of Kenneth Wilkinson and Gordon Parry whose techniques of creating the
"Decca Sound" Jimmy inherited. These were the helden days of Decca with the
historic recordings from Karajan, Bernstein, and the Culshaw Solti Ring."
