Rich Axel
Rich Axel of Columbia Univeristy just won this year's Nobel Prize.
An M.D. from Johns Hopkins, he ended up studying developmental
biology of fruitflies. His primary achievement is to clone the
whole family of fruitfly olfactory receptor genes.
