[XDXD] Who's Telling the Story
Tell your friend that in the story he must imagine four pictures. Picture
one depicts a husband driving with his backseat-driver wife, nagging:
"You're driving too fast. You're driving too slow. You should have turned
to the right," and so on.
The husband is fed up and bursts out: "Who's doing the driving, you or me?"
In the second picture, tell him to visualize a kitchen scene in which the
wife is doing the cooking with the husband standing in the way and making
remarks:
"You put in too much salt. You should add more pepper. The spaghetti is
overcooked. You should have cooked the vegetables a little longer," and the
like. The wife can't take it anymore and orders him out of the kitchen:
"Get our of here! Who's doing the cooking? You or me?"
Here, you say to your friend in a loud and clear voice: "In picture four..."
He will invariably remind you: "How about picture three?" You may give him
a playful look and say. "Who's telling the story, you or me?"
