The Chicago White Sox have signed outfielder Dewayne Wise to a minor league
deal, according to Dan Hayes of CSNChicago. Wise became a free-agent recently
after the veteran outfielder declined his outright assignment to the minor
leagues, instead being granted his release from the New York Yankees.

The 34-year-old Wise played well in limited time with the Yankees, batting
.262/.286/.492 in 63 plate appearances over 56 games (15 starts). The Yankees
signed Wise to a minor league deal and definitely got their money's worth;
Wise accumulated nearly 1 win above replacement for the team.
