Tater feast：Hungry Konerko delivers three
哈，我喜歡這個標題。白襪球團為挨餓兩天的Paulie安排 Tater feast，即便
當天不是Tater Day Festival。但沒料到他竟然一口氣嗑掉三顆，害得AJ只能
跟在後頭撿皮吃。
而Ozzie似乎很得意兩天不放飯的策略。
「We're smart. We gave him two days off, We know he's going to do
this today.」
不過，隨後他向上帝告解稍早的明星賽推薦名單不該遺漏Paulie。
「I feel bad because earlier, I mentioned a couple names who could
have made the All-Stars from our team, and I didn't say Paul Konerko
, That's a little embarrassing when one of the most consistent
players you have this year, and his name wasn't there when the guy
should be there. I don't think that's fair. I apologize to him.」
撇開明星賽不談，值得一提的是多項數據即將趕上去年。結論是08年球季還好
只是一場噩夢。

這場被Ozzie稱作Another typical Buehrle day的比賽，若沒有Paulie生涯對
Tribe的34-35-36轟，Buehrle本季第九勝恐難如願以嚐。此外，這是Paulie第
24個multi-homer game，八發滿貫砲追平Big Hurt和El Caballo，並列隊史第
二；而career high的單場七分打點，前一位白襪球員是井口資仁(2006)。
至於最近一位單場三轟的白襪球員是Jose Valentin在 Kauffman Stadium所締
造(2003)。主場得追朔至27年前的 Harold Baines，當時仍處舊Comiskey時期
(1982)。

Buehrle與Paulie有趣小插曲：
「I'm glad I got Mark some runs tonight, He was begging in the
dugout.」賽後訪談Paulie說。
意思就是Buehrle欠他一筆囉?
「Owe him one? For what? Just the grand slam. The other two were
throw-ins. After he hit the third one, I said,『Come on. Can't
you save that for when I need a couple of runs?』 It's nice to
see we are swinging the bats well at home.」Buehrle回應。

白襪需要Halladay嗎? Ozzie說:「每支球隊都想要他，但這不是需不需要、想
不想要、買不買得起的問題，要視經濟效益而定? 就現實層面，要得到這傢伙
，就必須付出代價，我不認為現階段該這麼做。我不是GM，何況他們要的也不
是我兒子Ozzie Jr.和Oney，他們考量的是大物。 除了金錢，大量球員絕對跑
不掉，我不覺得這是好事。」
KW說錢是主要因素。嗯? 之前$63million搶Peavy不是issue，現在$22million
卻是大issue?
萬用擋箭牌趕緊搬出來：金融海嘯，大環境不景氣。不夠力嗎? 放個大絕，誰
叫你們都不進場看球。
的確，The Cell本季迄今只賣了四場滿座：開幕戰和三場風城大戰。平均人數
26147遠不如去年30877。與道奇系列賽平均20817人(22251-20142-20057)，更
是讓他大開眼界。
「Well, if I'm being completely honest, money is more of an issue
now, We expected a little more fan support than we have gotten.
It's a reflection of the economy. And I don't know if we've played
consistent enough or been exciting enough for people to get behind
us yet. Maybe we were a little aggressive in preseason attendance

「I don't think we'll make a move for the fans, People will say we
have to bring in so-and-so, but if we make a move, it will be to
resolve what we need. When we got Blum, it was because he was what
we needed a backup infielder. People said why do we need Junior
when we have Nick Swisher, Jim Thome and Paul Konerko, but those
guys were struggling.」Ozzie說重點是我們現在需要什麼。
