[北美] Non-profit H1-B to profit H1-B
我目前是 University 的 Postdoc，所以拿的是 Non-profit H1-B
很幸運的，一家公司願意給我 offer 所以我應該會在 10/1 以後開始工作
我目前的老闆對我很好，他也同意願意聘我到 9/30 以銜接之後的工作
由於我打算七月底回台灣一趟
我想請問各位的是在轉換身份的期間，我是否可以出境呢？
我的律師告訴我：
please note, premium processing is not needed for your extension. This is
because you already hold H-1B status and we will be filing petition as an
extension, not a change of status. As long as you are in the U.S. at the time
we file your H-1B petition, there is no impact on travel.
意思是我可以出境回台灣再用還沒過期的 H1-B 入境
由於我爬了文並沒有相關的訊息，可否請知道的人給我點建議

Unlike a request for change of status, an extension of status request is not
abandoned if the beneficiary departs the United States while the petition is
pending. See Thomas Cook, Memorandum, “Travel After Filing a Request for a
Change of Nonimmigrant Status,” (June 18, 2001)(available at
http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/Travpub.pdf).
我想這樣我應該會比較安心一點了
