[討論] U2的歌詞與聖經 Until The End Of The World
大家都知道Bono是個非~~~常虔誠的基督徒，他的歌詞常引用聖經的句子
想和大家討論討論他的歌詞的含意，這是U2歌曲的特色之一
我先說我覺得最喜歡的，是Until The End Of The World
這首歌是U2和德國導演文溫德斯第二次合作的作品
第一次的合作則是我的all time favorite歌曲Stay(Faraway,So Close!)
其實這部電影「直到世界末日」我覺得是挺無聊的
在講述一個女子跟隨她心愛的男子到天涯海角關於追尋的故事
或許是因為電影的關係，一開始我都先入為主的認為Until The End Of The World 這是一
首情歌，而從歌詞看起來也真的很像
一個四處漂泊不定的男子和一個癡心守候的女人
男子雖愛著女子卻還是傷害她，又對自己的行為感到後悔，女子還是願意等他到世界末日
一個彼此糾纏彼此傷害彼此毀滅的愛情故事
這首歌應該是Achtung Baby裡我最喜歡的歌曲之一
直到後來我無意間在youtube的討論上看到有人說這首歌是
「從猶大的角度在講耶穌的故事」
一時之間讓我對這首歌有了全新的感覺

We were as close together as bride and groom ←最後晚餐的場景
We ate the food, we drank the wine ←┘

You were talking about the end of the world ←耶穌談到門徒之中有人會背叛他
I took the money, I spiked your drink ←猶大拿了祭司和長老們的30塊銀錢
You miss too much these days if you stop to think
You led me on with those innocent eyes
And you know I love the element of surprise
In the garden I was playing the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart ←猶大以親吻耶穌為暗號來出賣他
You, you were acting like it was the end of the world
In my dream I was drowning my sorrows ←這一整段都在講猶大的悔恨，最後他自殺了
But my sorrows they learned to swim
Surrounding me, going down on me
Spilling over the brim
In waves of regret, waves of joy
I reached out for the one I tried to destroy
You, you said youd wait until the end of the world ←我想這裡應該是指末日審判
我覺得很棒的是Bono可以把這首歌的歌詞寫的有雙面的意含
可以把它單純當做一首關於混蛋男和癡心女的悲傷情歌
而它也是猶大心境的寫照
這是我覺得這首歌最有趣的地方
