半導體產業出現重大變局，全球最大半導體製造商英特爾表示，將對荷蘭晶片設備供應商艾司摩爾（ASML）投資41億美元（約新台幣1,230億元），讓下一代晶片製程技術提早兩年實現，台積電同時也收到艾司摩爾的入股邀約，已證實在評估中。英特爾將以31億美元取得艾司摩爾多達15%的股權，並提供約10億美元的研發資金。艾司摩爾也將尋求其他客戶，資助昂貴的研發。 ... Intel Corp. (INTC) (INTC), the world’s largest semiconductor maker, agreed to invest as much as $4.1 billion in Dutch chip-equipment maker ASML Holding NV (ASML) in an effort to shave two years from the time to adopt new production techniques. The U.S. company said yesterday it will take an initial 10 percent stake in ASML for about $2.1 billion, and later another 5 percent for about $1 billion, pending shareholder approval. ASML, whose shares rose as much as 11 percent in Amsterdam, is also in talks with Samsung Electronics Co. (005930) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.
