ABOUT THE FINAL EXAM
(1)
Before you come to the final exam, you should have studied very closely
Chapters 6&7 of our textbook and done all the exercises offered therein. You
should have also done the exercise given by the instructor on Scanner II
entitled 良心作業 (四)
(2)
On the final exam, you will be asked to translate into English one of the two
classical poems given below
(a)
春眠不覺曉
處處聞啼鳥
夜來風雨聲
花落知多少
(b)
去年今日此門中
人面桃花相映紅
人面不知何處去
桃花依舊笑春風
Choose a or b. Be sure you are ready to give the translation before you come
to the exam. The instructor expects hard work and originality, and is not
going to accept a translation that doesn’t reveal any individual effort on
the part of the translator.

Another classical poem will be given you to translate, about which you will
know only when you come to the exam.
