[資訊] 多益金融單字與用語: 加幣夯?!
一、加拿大幣最近很夯，因為在眾多貨幣中，它都漲了，所以，買了加幣的人，這下都樂
透了吧。
二、內文:
Canada’s dollar reached the strongest level since May 2008 as the nation’s
economy and employment grew more than forecast, boosting confidence in the
recovery.
“The strength in the employment number attracted some new interest to step
into the market to sell the U.S. dollar and buy the Canadian dollar,” said
George Davis, chief technical analyst for fixed income and currency strategy
in Toronto at Royal Bank of Canada.
“We had a very solid employment report,” said Steve Butler, director of
foreign-exchange trading in Toronto at Bank of Nova Scotia’s Scotia Capital
unit. “The Bank of Canada is going to have to start thinking about when it’
s going to start hiking rates again.”
三、多益英檢文法重點:
1. reach(V):抵(達)，level(N):程度，部位，economy(N):經濟，employment(N):就業，
forecast(V、N):預估，boost(V):提升，激勵，recovery(N):復原，attract(V):吸引，
step into:投入，fixed income:固定收益，currency(N):，頻率，這裡指貨幣，
strategy(N):策略，solid(adj):堅固的，這裡指強勁的，trade(N):貿易，這裡指交易，
hike rate"上調利率。
2.這篇提到許多金融相關名詞，例如Canada dollar(加幣)、economy(經濟)、
employment(就業率)、confidence(消費者信心)、recovery(最近最夯的經濟復甦)、
number(數據)、interest(利率、一般指興趣)、market(投資市場)、analyst(分析師)、
income(收入)、currency(貨幣)與foreign-exchange(貨幣交易)，於是各位要注意的其形
容詞與動詞啦，例如strong(熱門或強勁)，相反詞是weak(乏人問津或軟)，recovery(復
甦)，相反詞有recession(衰退、不景氣)、buy(買)與sell(賣)這裡都然是指"貨幣"有虛
擬的味道，purchase(購買)，則買的是實體的東西。
3. hike rate是指上調利率，意思是increase the rate rapidly，相反詞是cut the
rate:下調利率，其中，通常由Central Bank(中央銀行)執行，美國則是由聯準會(The
Fedreal Reserve)執行，用以tame(抑制)通膨(inflation)，通貨緊縮則是deflation，
boost(V):刺激，相反詞是relax，surplus(盈餘)，赤字為deficit。
4.其實讀金融文章時，除了必要的名詞需記得外，其形容詞(2對)一起記最快了，老美會
用到的單字不就是那幾各字，當然專業的名詞，又另當別論啦，這裡指的是多益會出現的
單字。
5. reach(V):抵達，這裡指的是"來到"的意思，第一行可翻譯為:受經濟成長與就業率超
乎先前預測，增加民眾對經濟復甦的信心，加拿大幣來到自2008年5月以來，新高部位紀
錄。reach相關單字還有overreach(過火導致失敗)、outreach(N):從事社區服務、
farreaching(adj):影響深遠的與unreachable(adj):無法抵達的。
