今天ETS又出兩套題，不過也順利命中模擬真題Conversation! 完整模擬真題命中記錄表： http://j2toefl.blogspot.tw/2013/10/j2toefl_20.html A套口說也完全直接命中Task 1-6第一題！ A套閱讀 1. Wild生長的wheat怎樣domesticated by the southeast Asian. 第一段到第三段說了wild 那啥被domesticate的困難，包括稻穗的飼養條件很苛刻，大麥的脖子很重很容易倒塌，外表有保護殼人難以消化。後面說出了只要客服了某些缺點就能夠domesticate了。最後一段說了一些農民和稻穗之間的關係。 2. New England 時期北方人和中部人的一些介紹。前三段在商業、土地、貿易等方面比較了North地區和middle地區和傳統western country的區別。 3. 恐龍滅亡原因之一：隕石撞擊理論聽力 C1 女學生要選自己的major (主旨題). 在classic 和其他科系猶豫，因為這個 classic限制了他學期他的課（有題）但是他還是太喜歡classic了所以還是想選。老師建議他選一個interdisciplinary的課程，這樣既能學到 literature也還能學到art還能練習Latin. L1 Venus的三個特點及其形成原因。 1. reversed rotation, unlike other planets in the solar system 2. smooth surface 第三個點忘了形成原因 1. 綜合來說是由於兩種巨大的planet之間的一種相互作用而導致的Venus運轉方向變化和表面光滑, 第三點忘了。最後教授認為這個理論還需要研究做進一步證實（態度題） L2 一個藝術家John Penian 用了一種光學儀器來作畫，那個光學儀器基本就是小孔成像的原理然後放大投射到牆上，已獲得較大而精細的物品細節來作畫。不過有個缺點就是會是反的。這個光學儀器的lens在P之前就well developed了（有題）另外一個researcher R為了證明P是用那個光學儀器做畫作了個實驗。 C2 *命中T1 Conversation 2 -- student's been locked out of a room in which she intended to store costumes and props! L3 fall line, 教授先給定義，有海勢差的地方就是, 做了fall line和瀑布的比較，fall line的作用隨著歷史的變遷而改變，人們在fall line旁邊經歷的三個階段：farm, industry, 和highway. L4 講了forest裡的氮循環氮會被fungus分解什麼的，然後舉例說了幾棵樹啥的。口說（*全部命中J1等級Task1-6第一題） 1. Social referencing 5. application for summer intern 6. thermoregulation 寫作整合 Monarch butterfly Reading: 1.they won't just stay in local area, also moved to different place. So the evidence of monarch population declined is not true. 2.milkweed is also growing in the wild place. Monarch won't decrease because they use herbicide to eliminate milkweed. 3.genetic corn were banned by irrational people because they said the corn may influence monarch, but past few years, they didn't make any decrease. Listening: 1.monarch finally will fly to Mexico, count numbers there, we will know the decline evidence is true. 2.milkweed in the wild is not enough to feed on the whole monarch population. And farming places develop gradually ,monarch has less wild milkweed. 3.can ban herbicide first to see it's real or not. 獨立 *J1 1-53 Young people nowadays do not respect their teachers as much as they did in the past. B 套閱讀 1.Natives of NA, 如何收Europe國家影響，連續好多題集中在第三段，很長，講了Indian village的comb作為例子, 他的comb因為要和歐洲人交易所以改變材質跟齒數，因為歐洲帶來了金屬，Indian就做歐洲人喜歡的金屬梳子（這裡有很多題），他們還在梳子上刻了關於騎馬(?) 的圖, 代表身分和財富。他們改變自己的產品就是為何迎合歐洲市場，後來說了他們的產品比較單一，需求會變少。 2.life origins on the earth 倆科學家simulation，改變了之前的觀點但後來受到質疑，連一個fundamental assumption都受到質疑，具體什麽觀點和被推翻的原因記不清了涉及的概念有amino acid，CO2等，基本上所有題都是圍繞這些物質的存在與否進行 3.chimpanzee學語言的能力講了2個chimpanzee，一個叫Washoe，一個叫Nim 分別由兩組不同的科學家train（也不是同時）前者discover可以sign，還可以combine 2 even more signs，like children 後者後來發現他們只是repeat the trainer taught的，不能add new information even if they can combine several，而且only when they get what they want，一旦超過125 bites 就不行了（還是可以達到125但沒用我忘了）聽力 C1 學生miss class因為trip中的bus出了問題，然後講了的都是bio方面的話題 L1 marine animal sleep 舉了dolphin的例子，說dolphin的大腦是分左右 2parts，交替工作，因為每隔2hours他們需要去surface換氣，這種腦的機制讓它們即使在sleep中也能潛意識去surface換氣，並且有助於它們alert，防 predator(有題)infant dolphin需要去surface換氣more often，然後需要 keep moving因為if they stay motionless，temperature會降(有題) L2 Renaissance realism畫派的具體三種當時記筆記弄得很清楚，但是現在已經沒印象了……就記得還說最後一種的時候還提到了一種literature進行類比然後第一還是第二種更3D，說是realism但是不是完全像photograph(有題)那種逼真，而是加入自己的理解，不僅僅是see，還是feel的，是整體的；19世紀有個French流派非常註重details 這三種realism會被mix著用，而且會用透視法來話。第一種是expressive, 特點是十分細緻，細緻到像照片一樣，例子是一個法國畫家，但是這種不能算文藝復興時期的realism特點因為其他時期也有，第二種是domestic, 畫的都是日常看的到的花草牛羊的，是這時期會重要的一種，會被用在其他作品上，例如literature, 第三種deceptive,創造幻覺，明明2D的卻要畫出3D效果。 C2 一個backing up的社團去和newspaper的人去討論之前一篇unbalanced的文章，因為第一個聽力section做得太high了con2貌似聽漏了一些，有兩題貌似不是很確定 L3 說是psychology，其實是講動物的，黑板上有個詞hippopotamus，一開始講了bats的hearing和vision，然後還講了bird，crow的實驗, 還有講到司機記路比平常人厲害，所以他們的spacial(空間) memory在腦袋裡面也比較大，開車越久spacial memory越厲害。 L4 是物理，講了一種新energy device，還有圖，是電解質溶液那一類的口說 1.Which is most important in your life? computer/ telephone/ television 2. *J2 2-24做運動員talent比較重要還是hard work? 3.the library change its policy: books cannot be taken home because they are often returned in poor conditions the man agrees (1)most of the damages of the books are caused by drinks and food (2)some books are so heavy to carry home, you can now carry it just downstairs to the table of library 4.product positioning advertisement should be attached to the feature of the products, aiming at their target market example：once he was work in an agency of a car company, their target market is the people who live in the suburb and work in the town, and the sells are not good the thing that these people concern is the cost of gas and save money when they make their advertisement attached to the feature which is useful in saving gas, the sells tripled 5. *J2 5-3 the woman needs to direct a drama play, many major roles need actors, but the actors they have now are not experienced 2 ways: (1)audition (2)switch play another play main roles are fewer, the actors they have now is enough. But time is limited, only 2 weeks left 6. 2 functions of roots of plants :absorb water, help plants stand (1)maize, tall and thin, might be blown over by heavy winds (2)mangrove, in a wet environment filled up with water and no air, lack of oxygen 寫作整合 *J1 Q12 use bacteria to clean up the oil spills 閱讀三個缺點： 1.bacteria会dominate ocean 2.bacteria needs more nutrition, lead other organisms to grow rapidly and break the ocean ecosystem 3.using bacteria is cheap and effective, the oil-transporting companies will not pay attention to it any more lecture 1.As soon as oil spill is cleaned up, the bacteria will no longer exist because the only material they can feed on is oil 2.compared to the risk of using bacteria, the risk of not using them is more harmful.
