NEW YORK, Dec. 11, 2006 – The Washington Wizards’ Gilbert Arenas and the
Phoenix Suns’ Steve Nash today were named the Eastern and Western Conference
Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 4 through
Sunday, Dec. 10.
Nash led the Suns to a 4-0 week which extended the team’s unbeaten streak to
10 in a row. For the week, he averaged 20.4 points on 31-of-54 (.574)
shooting, including 10-of-17 three-point attempts, and added a league-best
11.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high 42 points and
tallied 13 assists and six rebounds in Phoenix’s 161-157 double-overtime win
at New Jersey on Dec. 7, which tied for the fourth-highest scoring game in
NBA history (318 combined points).

Dec. 7 @ New Jersey: Scored career-high 42 points and added 13 assists, six
rebounds and one steal in the Suns 161-157 double-overtime win at New Jersey.
Dec. 8 @ Boston: Tallied 16 points, 14 assists, five rebounds and one steal
in a 116-111 win over the Celtics.
Dec. 10 @ Charlotte: Scored 11 points and added 10 assists and two steals in
114-84 win.
