deciding whether p1>p2 or p1<p2.To decide on one of these alternatives, the
following trial is run.Pairs of patients are treated sequentially,with one
member receiving drug1 and the other drug2.The results of the pair are
determined and testing stops when the number of cures for one drug exceeds
the number of cures for the other drug by some fixed,predetermined number,say
K.We would conclude in favor of drug1(i.e. p1>p2)if there are K more cures
than drug2 and in favor of drug2(i.e.,p1<p2)if there are K more cures than
drug1.For given p1 and p2 such that p1>p2,what is the probability that the
above experiment will indicate that drug1 is inferior?
