The greatness of an organization depends on their ability to adapt and execute as time progresses. What better team to exemplify this than the San Antonio Spurs, who have been the symbol of athletic organizational success for nearly 20 years. As the Spurs dawn a new frontier, Kyle Anderson is expected to be a key piece to their future successes. He improved in every basic statistical category in season two, most notably in points (4.5), field goal percentage (46.8), three-point percentage (32.4), free throw percentage (74.7) and assists (1.6). 儘管Anderson的菜鳥球季跟第二個球季都沒有讓人跌破眼鏡的表現，但對於22歲的他還是有些值得期待的地方。他第二年時改善了他的每一項基本數據，成長得最多的是得分的部分(4.5分)，另外投籃命中率有46.8、三分球命中率32.4、罰球命中率74.7，還有1.6次助攻。 There is a certain dichotomy to Anderson’s game that doesn’t quite seem to find a balance. While he is naturally unselfish, he is also naturally unaggressive and it seems to get him into trouble sometimes. He is adept at finding open teammates and moving the ball when needed by the offense, but also exhibits the same behavior when the offensive calls for him to shoot an open shot or attack an open lane. 看Anderson的比賽會有一種二分感，他似乎也還沒辦法拿捏好這個平衡點。儘管他是個無私的球員，但他打起來會顯得消極，而這點會不時讓他陷入麻煩。當球隊需要他傳球的時候，他能夠順利地找到隊友的空檔並且幫忙導球；但當球隊需要他去投那些大空檔或是切入取分時他還是在做一樣的事情。 The aggressiveness of Anderson’s game will need to be a key improvement, but he does find ways to effectively contribute on the offensive end. His highest percentage shooting comes from within 10 feet of the basket (52.5%) and second is he pull-up game (46.7%). Last season, Anderson’s highest percentage shots came after holding the ball for six seconds or more (55.6%). At times, it seems his slower style of play is mirrored in his inability to make split-second decisions. The difference is obvious on paper in and observing the guy in games. He just doesn’t want to shoot the three. The rest were catch and shoot three-point attempts, which suggests his ability to create a variety of shots is limited. On the flip side, 205 of his 258 two-point shots came with 1 or more dribbles. What he lacks in foot speed, he makes up for in court I.Q and length. Anderson is most successful when guarding 15ft or further from the basket. He forced offensive players from that distance to shoot 30.2 percent (5.5% lower than average) and defended the three-point line by forcing players into 25 percent shooting (9.0 % lower than average). 再來看他的防守端表現，Anderson長成了一個強悍的防守者。他缺乏速度，但他能用籃球智商和手長來彌補這點。他在防守15呎外的球員時非常成功，他讓對位的球員在這樣的距離命中率只有30.2%(比平均低了5.5%)，並且讓三分線的出手命中率降到25% (比平均低了9.0%)。 The season was just a stepping-stone for a player who has the potential to become a significant role player in the NBA. The type of player that can be counted on to hit big shots, make meaningful plays, and do the little things that keep a successful machine running. Anderson gets a B minus letter grade for the year because he has so much more room to grow.
