The San Antonio Spurs will take on the NBA's worst team Monday without a pair
of their best players.
Tim Duncan and Tony Parker will both sit versus the Philadelphia 76ers, the te
am announced.
The decision by head coach Gregg Popovich to sit the duo is hardly surprising.
The Spurs are on the second night of a back-to-back and Popovich is known to
rest his veterans when he can - even in games less favorable.
Duncan is officially getting the night off for rest, while Parker is sitting w
ith bruised ribs. Parker hurt his ribs in practice over the weekend and said h
e may be playing through a broken rib.
The 76ers' 0-16 start is the worst in franchise history and two losses off tyi
ng the NBA record. The New Jersey Nets started the 2009-10 season 0-18.
