今天四月23日是加泰隆尼亞的Sant Jordi日 http://www.gencat.cat/catalunya/santjordi/eng/index.htm For Sant Jordi, a rose and a book. This tradition, which combines a rose as a symbol of love and a book as a symbol of culture, has turned April 23rd into a festive celebration which fills the streets and squares with book and flower stalls. It is a day for walking around and enjoying the spectacle of streets turning into open-air book shops. Catalonia has exported this tradition of the book and the rose to the rest of the world. In 1995, the UNESCO adopted April 23rd as World Book and Copyright Day. The Director General, Koichiro Matsuura, has declared that this year's edition presents another occasion for politicians, economic institutions and civilians to honour this vehicle of expression, education and communication. 旁邊還有兩個link 下面也有往年的活動介紹 我就不貼了 有興趣的同學可以自己去點研究了解 另一個link可以參考 http://www.csmonitor.com/2005/0223/p14s01-trgn.html 'A rose by any other name...' in Spanish By Barbara Wysocki | Contributor to The Christian Science Monitor BARCELONA, SPAIN – Every April 23 the streets of Barcelona fill with red roses and Shakespeare as the proud Catalans celebrate the feast of their patron, Sant Jordi. Why does the Mediterranean city that inspired Picasso and the celebrated Spanish architect Gaudi overflow with flowers and books? When spring is at its full power, the Barcelonans and visitors head outside to celebrate a cultural festival that merges a noble dragon slayer with the deaths of two literary lions. The day also offers a potpourri of bookish events and the chance to dance like a Catalan. (下略囉 有興趣的自己點去看 :D) -- ██████████████████ -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 220.130.12.144
