Did the 76ers’ prospective new ownership group prevent a proposed trade
involving Andre Iguodala from occurring?
Team president Rod Thorn wasn’t saying Monday.

Asked if that’s what happened with the group, led by leveraged-buyout
specialist Joshua Harris, Thorn replied via email, “I’m not at liberty to
comment on what the arrangements are between the perspective new owners and
Mr. Snider (Sixers chairman Ed Snider).”
Earlier in the day, Thorn answered an email question on the same subject
with: “Nothing going on at this time on the trade front.”
After the Sixers selected USC’s Nikola Vucevic and Temple’s Lavoy Allen in
Thursday night’s NBA Draft, Thorn responded to question about trade rumors
involving Iguodala and the Warriors’ high-scoring Monta Ellis by saying there
’s “nothing going on at this time.”
Having acquired a center (Vucevic) and power forward (Pennsbury High School’
s Allen) in the draft, the Sixers’ primary need becomes adding a
scorer/shooter.

With the lockout set to begin Friday morning at 12:01, teams would have to
finalize a deal by late Thursday night or else have to wait until the lockout
ends.
Since the owners are looking for salary concessions from the players to
regain financial stability, this could be a lengthy one.
Thorn twice said last week that he thought teams were being “more cautious
than normal” about making trades because of the uncertainty that would
accompany a lockout.
Players and coaches/management wouldn’t be able to work out together or even
communicate during a lockout, which is why head coach Doug Collins said
Friday that he planned to meet with numerous players, including Iguodala, by
Thursday to make sure they understand what’s expected of them during a
lockout.

The New York-based Harris and his group are reportedly negotiating to
purchase 90 percent of the Sixers from Comcast-Spectacor for $280 million.
They would have to play games at the Wells Fargo Center, which is owned by
Comcast-Spectacor.
來自紐約的Harris及其集團，據傳正協商購買 Comcast-Spectacor 集團手中九成七六
人的股份，代價是美金2.8億元。不過主場仍將設在Comcast-Spectacor 所有的Wells
Fargo Center。
