Maurice Cheeks likes to talk about how attention to detail will help the
76ers gain consistency and help them win games.

But it's still a concept the Sixers don't completely grasp, and it cost them
a winnable game last night, both in regulation and in overtime, against
Orlando.

The Magic scored their first six points of overtime on a pair of
three-pointers by Pat Garrity and tallied their last four on a pair of
second-chance opportunities that gave them a 119-115 victory at the Wachovia
Center in a game that snapped the Sixers' modest three-game winning streak.

It was the kind of game the Sixers have been losing all season, with a
failure to get a defensive stop at crunch time and an inability to get a
rebound after the opponent shoots. The Magic held a 6-1 rebounding advantage
in overtime and scored off all three of their offensive rebounds.

After going down by six, the Sixers battled back and tied the game, 113-113,
on a three-point play by Chris Webber with 1 minute, 20 seconds to play.
Keyon Dooling gave the Magic the lead for good on two free throws with 1:08

elected not to foul, and DeShawn Stevenson missed a jumper, but Hedo Turkoglu
got the offensive rebound and sank two insurance free throws with 3.1 seconds
remaining.

The Sixers played well enough at the offensive end. Iverson, who had 12
assists and no turnovers in the second half and overtime, scored 38 points
and Webber tied his season high with 32 to go with 11 rebounds and 3 blocked
shots.

But the defense - and where have you heard that before? - wasn't good enough
when needed.

offense," Iverson said. "It's just other things. They got offensive rebounds
at points where we couldn't give up offensive rebounds. They were critical.
Those are the things we've got to look at. We've just got to do the things
that are not so fun in basketball, and defense is only fun unless you make it
that way."

Iverson twisted his ankle when he stepped on Howard's foot late in the fourth
quarter and was not in the game for the Sixers' last possession with 1.4
seconds to go. Kyle Korver inbounded the ball to Webber, who threw a return
pass to Korver, but Korver's three-pointer for the win bounced off the rim.

The Magic were without former St. Joseph's star Jameer Nelson, who sat out
the game with a sprained right foot.

"We had defensive lapses; I think that's what killed us," Cheeks said. "We
