Lazio coach Delio Rossi admits he will leave the club this summer, leaving
president Claudio Lotito stunned by the news.
Rossi's future has come under scrutiny from the media with a number of claims
suggesting his relationship with the club was falling into disarray after
failure to agree new terms with Lotito. The president has reportedly been
eyeing other candidates for the club's bench role, leaving Rossi to take his
future into his own hands.
The coach is adamant about leaving, and Lotito is not impressed.
"I will not be Lazio coach next season. I will meet the president later
tonight to tell him my decision. I will probably hold a press conference
tomorrow to tell the media," Rossi told StadioNews.it.
Lotito wasted no time in reacting to the news that his coach had decided to
quit, as he mumbled to the press.
"I don't know what to say," Lotito told Mediagol.it.
"I think it's absurd that the coach has told the media before coming to me."
