"It has been a very emotional past couple of weeks and it took its toll," she claimed. "I found it hard to get good timing, I had so many mishits. And she was reading my serve very well and also hitting flat and hard." Ivanovic said she needed to look at the defeat as a learning experience. "For me, it was all new situations. Although I wasn't nervous or anything, I didn't have as good preparation as I hoped for because I had to have time off after Roland Garros." "Coming from clay you have to go on court with a completely different mentality. On clay, if you are struggling a little bit you still have time to get into the game. "But on grass everything is happening so fast, you really have to be there from the first point, and that's something I found hard." They know they have nothing to lose and are pumped up, giving their best. It's something you have to accept." Explaining her calm, post-match demeanour, she said: "Trust me, it is not easy to lose, but I had some time to calm down after the match. But you also have to realise the world won't end. These things make you realise there are areas to improve on. Sometime you need a punch like this." Zheng said she was given the incentive to be more aggressive by what she thought was poor serving by Ivanovic. "[Her serve] was just so-so, and that made me give 100 per cent on every point."
