澄清紐約報紙上的說法。之前就想翻譯只是因為翻得很慢加上一直在偷懶(笑)。

For a frustrated Lin, waiting is hardest part
對於沮喪的林而言，等待是最困難的部分
For two days, Jeremy Lin had to let his frustration marinate in the mix that
is his unique place as an NBA celebrity beginning the next phase of his career.
在林成為NBA當中的名人之一並展開他職業生涯的新一頁時，這兩天林必須讓沮喪的心情
泡在自己的心中。
He had struggled badly against the Spurs on Sunday, making just the last of
his 10 shots, which drew unusual levels of attention if only because he was
the guy going 1-for-10. That morning, an unnamed source had charged in a New
York newspaper that Rockets coaches were unhappy with him over a lack of
effort to improve, which they considered so inaccurate they said the issue
was that he has workedtoo hard and they wanted him to back off.
林在星期天對上馬刺的比賽中辛苦掙扎，在該場比賽出手了十次，並且引起了不尋常的關
注，只因為他投十中一。同一天早上，紐約的報紙上刊載了由不具名來源的消息指稱火箭

Lin did not deny his poor play or disguise his disappointment, but he also
knew there would be nothing he could do about it until Wednesday night’s
game against Memphis, with the Rockets having already determined he would
have to sit out Monday’s game against the Mavericks.
林並沒有否認或者掩飾自己的失望(對於自己的表現)，同時他也知道直到禮拜三晚上對灰
熊的比賽之前他沒辦法做什麼，因為火箭已經決定林在星期一對上小牛的比賽中不能上場

“It’s frustrating,” Lin said. “Any time you don’t play as well as you
think you’re capable of, it’s frustrating. I have to remember it’s a
process. It’s not just going to happen overnight for me. I’m going to have
to build and build step by step, brick by brick. As long as I get an upward
progression of improvement over time, I think I’m happy.”
林說: 這讓人沮喪。 每當你表現的不如自己預期，總是讓人沮喪。我必須記得這是必經

As much as he can have that perspective and put it in a Harvard-y sort of
way, Lin could not blame his critics, since he has been among his harshest.
Through three preseason games, he has averaged 5.3 points (on 21.1 percent
shooting) and 4.7 assists in 22.7 minutes.
正因為林有這樣的想法並且將想法一定程度的實踐在哈佛的那幾年，林沒辦法責備那些批
評者，因為他自己就是其中最嚴厲的。三場熱身賽下來，林平均得5.3分(投籃命中率21.1

Lin said he would not have been able to live with his play Sunday had it been
a regular-season game, so coach Kevin McHale, knowing Lin would have to live
with it for a few days, met with him on Sunday evening and again Monday
morning in Dallas.
林表示他絕對不能忍受在賽季中的比賽有像星期日那場熱身賽一樣的表現，而McHale教練

“He’s just getting his confidence back, trying to get his mojo going, which
is very common,” McHale said. “I said, ‘Just go out and relax and play. It
’s going to come.’ Anybody who has ever played and come back has gone
through a period (when) it’s kind of odd. All of a sudden, things click, and
he’s back to playing well and confident.”
McHale教練說: 他(林)正在慢慢建立信心並且找回自己的魔力，這是很正常的。 我對他
說"總之就上場放輕鬆打球就可以了。每一位有上場經驗的球員重新回到場上總是會有

Some of Lin’s difficulties have stemmed from the growing pains of the Rockets
’ offense. Yes, he has missed some open shots, but many of his scoring
chances have come when the movement around him bogged down and he had to
charge into the lane to create his own offense.
林所面對的某些困難源自於火箭進攻上的痛苦。是的，林是在幾次空檔出手沒投進，但是

The Rockets consider his shooting percentage among the least of their issues.
Even less of a concern is what he will do about it.

“I know everybody on our coaching staff has nothing but complete faith in
Jeremy,” assistant coach Kelvin Sampson said. “We watch him practice every
day. If anything, you have to pull him back. He works as hard as anybody on
this team.
助理教練Kelvin Sanpson說: 據我所知整個火箭教練群對林都有相當程度的信心。我們每
天都看著他練習，真要說有任何問題的話，我們就會讓他休息。他跟這個團隊的所有人同
樣努力。
“Jeremy and the guy he works with on shooting (Josh Fan) come in at night,
and we’ve talked about as a staff monitoring how much he does so he doesn’t
overdo it. I’ve never heard anything about him not working hard enough. If
anything, he works too hard.”
林和他的投籃指導(Josh Fan)晚上有來找我，我們透過監控系統討論他已經做到的並且要

Lin has continued to report there are no issues from last spring’s surgery
to repair a torn meniscus or the time lost to his rehab, other than the wait
to regain his quickness. Monday’s day off was part of the team’s plan for
him this month rather than a result of any setback.
林的狀況報告顯示上季春天時的半月板手術以及他復健的速度都沒有任何問題，而敏捷度
的恢復也是(沒有任何問題)。星期一的休息只是團隊的月計畫一環，跟傳言和任何挫折都
無關。
The difficulty was in having to wait to try to bounce back, inspiring those
around Lin to remind him there is no rush, no matter how much scrutiny comes
his way.
真正的困難來自等待捲土重來的時刻，提醒林不要著急，讓林和隊友振奮起來，無論外界
的審查有多嚴厲。
“He should feel no pressure,” Chandler Parsons said. “There shouldn’t be
any burden on his shoulders to lead or to go out there and score 20 points.
Just go out there and play the way you know how to play, and good things will
happen.”
Chandler Parsons說: 他(林)不需要感到有壓力。這裡不會要他負擔領導整個團隊的責任
並且上場拿20分，只需要他照自己所知的方法去打球，而好事情就會發生。
