What a difference a day makes:
Houston Rockets forward Chuck Hayes underwent successful surgery this
afternoon to repair a broken nose which he sustained during a workout session
earlier in the day. The procedure was conducted at Memorial Hermann--Texas
Medical Center by Dr. Becky McGraw-Wall. Hayes is expected to miss between
four to six weeks before he is cleared to return to on-court workouts.
This unfortunate injury took place a mere 24 hours after I had the
opportunity to engage in a light-hearted conversation with Chuck. The only
bright side: If it had to happen, now is as good a time as any.
All the best to Chuck during his recovery. Can't wait to see his hard work
and hustle on the floor again.
