Azubuike, a 6-5 guard, averaged 2.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in two preseason appearance. Azubuike averaged 10 points and 3.7 rebounds in 97 career games at Kentucky. "It's a part of the job that stinks: calling somebody in there and telling them your dream is being put on hold for right now with our team," Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "But I think from Kelenna's standpoint, if you look at his preseason line — 26 minutes, 1-for-7 — but then look at his stats from our scrimmages, his stats were overwhelmingly positive. "I don't have any doubts that he can play in the NBA."
