Gerald Levert's Home Destroyed by Fire

It seems like every couple of years, some kind of evil Levert family curse
rears it's ugly head. First, the legendary Gerald Levert died in 2006 from a
lethal combination of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Then his
brother Sean, also a singer, died in 2008 in an Ohio jail due to a combination
of various health ailments, including high blood pressure, heart disease,
diabetes and Xanax withdrawal. And now, Gerald's home outside Cleveland has
been destroyed by fire. Neighbors reported seeing flames at the large two-
story brick home, valued at $340,000, on the night of Sat., April 17.
Firefighters spent all night knocking down the blaze, but no one was injured,
according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer newspaper. The home, which had been
unoccupied since Gerald's death, had been put up for auction on April 8, but
no bids for it were received, according to media reports. The cause of the
fire is being investigated, and more details will be posted here as they
become known.
