Now that the Red Sox have kept Lars Anderson’s path to the Majors clear, it seems that the best use for the cash that they saved would be in filling the starting catcher position. What if they could acquire one of these players in a trade, without giving up the farm: 沒簽到Tex?沒關係，咱們還有Lars，當前最重要問題應該放在捕手，去他媽的一壘。下面幾個人選是可以考慮看看，而且不用放棄農場深度呦^______________^ --A durable 26-year-old who’s projected to hit about 290/380/440, who makes ~$50 mil over the next 3 years. --A 25-year-old projected to hit 250/330/430, who will make $33 mil over the next 3 years. --A 25-year-old projected at about 260/330/430, who will make $41 mil over the next 3 years. 上面這三句話很簡單，自己看看，除非你認為2007-2004=86。 These all sound like pretty attractive options. All would easily be worth their contracts and would fill a huge, gaping hole on the roster. But where do we find these mythical players. The first is Russell Martin, who I guess will make about 4/7/11 over the next 3 years. The second is Miguel Montero, who I guess will make .5/4/6 over the next 3 years. The last is Jeff Clement, who I guess will make .5/.5/4 over the next 3 years. 這三個看起來都不錯。他們都有那份合約的價值且能補上我們打線上那個和黑鮑魚一樣大的洞。這三個人哪裡找？分別是Martin：薪水為4/7/11M， Montero：薪水.5/4/6M，Clement：薪水.5/.5/4m。 But wait, you say, those numbers don’t add up--these players are much cheaper than the ones described above and would certainly cost a ton to acquire. The trick here is for the Red Sox to take on bad salaries with each of these players, thus enticing trading partners to give them up for less. You trade for Martin, you also take on Pierre and his 3/28.5. With Montero, you also get Eric Byrnes and his 2/22. Along with Clement you get Carlos Silva ’s 3/36. Now, instead of having to give up someone like Bowden, you’re giving up a surplus SS and one of the less stellar arms in the organization. 靠杯，你豪洨我們喔，明明你上上面說的數字就和上面不一樣，上面數字便宜多了。嘿嘿，這就是好玩的地方，RedSox要知道天底下沒有白吃的午餐，要把到秋香也得有兩把刷子。要把這些人帶走你可能會順道帶走一些土特產 Martin--請帶走Pierre和他3yrs/28.5M Montero--請帶走Byrnes和他2yrs/22M Clement--請帶走12M 除此之外，你可能不會放棄一個等同Bowden等級的投手而用一個多餘的SS和另一條不太重要的手臂。 Maybe these guys aren’t available, but Clement and Montero are blocked at their positions and the Dodgers are supposedly down on Martin.
