Coco Crisp:
Considering that Coco Crisp recently spent three nights in a hospital during
a painful bout with kidney stones, taking batting practice on Monday at
Fenway Park was a soothing experience for the Boston center fielder. The
leadoff man is at last nearing a return to the active roster.
Pena scratched:
Center fielder Wily Mo Pena was in Monday's original lineup. But that changed
when Pena, citing soreness in his left wrist, was scratched in favor of
Willie Harris.
Kapler excited:
"Ninety," said Kapler. "[I'm] real close. It's a speed buildup at this point.
I just want to feel like the speed is there. Obviously, I pretty much wear my
emotion on my sleeve and I'm excited about the prospects of this being just
out of reach right now."
Monday was the first day that Kapler ran the bases
