Which Ranger has surprised you most? By Richard Durrett * Mike Napoli. He arrived in spring training as the No. 3 catcher and a part-time first baseman designed to bolster the club's bench. But when an uncertain bullpen forced the Rangers to trade Matt Treanor, Napoli became the backup catcher. All he's done is post a 2.63 catcher ERA, nailed 42.1 percent of runners and hit close to .300. There aren't many players as hot as he is in the second half. And we all saw him crush that ball on Thursday. * Alexi Ogando. Thrust into the rotation thanks to Tommy Hunter's groin injury in the final week of spring training, Ogando is 12-5 with a 3.33 ERA. He made the All-Star team and has made the Rangers' rotation a deep one. Ogando has been so good that even when the club didn't have enough options for late relief, the team couldn't move him out of the rotation. He could prove to be a critical arm come playoff time. * Matt Harrison. Inconsistent throughout his young career, the lefty has figured out how to be consistent in 2011. He is 10-8 with a 3.19 ERA, the lowest ERA for any Rangers starter. He has stayed healthy this season, pitching 143 2/3 innings, and the Rangers have won seven of his last eight starts. He's worked hard on the mental part of his game and it's working. * Endy Chavez. After battling knee issues, which included surgery following a collision with teammate Yuniesky Betancourt while both were in Seattle on June 19, 2009, Chavez was signed as a minor league free agent in the offseason and was invited to spring training. He came up in May after Julio Borbon was injured and has played well enough to stay on the roster. He's been solid defensively in center field and has surprised with the bat, hitting over .300. * Yoshi Tateyama. The reliever started the season in the minors but was recalled in late May as the club tried to find some bullpen help. He's done a solid job, especially against right-handed batters (they were hitting .155 off him going into Thursday's game). He's a guy that can give manager Ron Washington multiple innings and has solid command. He was the oldest Ranger (35 years, 149 days) at the time of his major league debut. * Michael Young. Seems crazy to put him on this list, but remember his offseason? He demanded a trade, then one didn't materialize and he arrived at spring training ready to work. And that's what he's done. Washington says he's the team MVP. Young is vying for the AL lead in batting average, too, and leads the club in RBIs. With Adrian Beltre out, Young has filled in at third base. Rangers fans are used to a high level of play, but some might still consider how good he's been surprising. 我個人是認為Young和Ogando 各位板友的看法呢? 一起討論看看吧:) -- a █◣ ╮ ╭══╮ ╭ ◢█ ◣ ◢█ ◣ ════╮ █▌ █ theanswer3╯☆ █ ◣╰══════╯ █▋ █ █▌ █ █▌the◢█◣ ◣ █◣ ◣ █ ◥█◣ ◢█◣ ◢█◣ ◢ ◤ █ ─◥ ████ █◢█an██swer3█ █▌█ ███ ◥ ◣ ◢ ◤˙3 █▌ █ ◥◤◥ ◥ ▌◤ ◥ █ ◥█◤ ◥▌◤ █▌ █ ◢◤ ▄ ╱〈 ██ █◤ ════════◆◤══════════ ◥█ ◤ ██ █ ════╯ -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 221.120.71.21
