The Rangers have signed catcher Yorvit Torrealba to a two-year, $6.25 million contract. Torrealba gives the Rangers an immediate upgrade behind the plate. The 32-year-old backstop batted .271/.343/.378 with seven homers and 37 RBI over 325 at-bats with the Padres this past season, while throwing out 37 percent (22-for-60) of would-be basestealers.
