[外電] RANGERS ACQUIRE RAPADA FROM DETROIT
Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers acquired left-hander
Clay Rapada from the Detroit Tigers on Monday.
Rapada spent most of last season with Triple-A Toledo, but made three
appearances for the Tigers and posted a 5.40 earned run average without
recording a decision.
In 33 career relief appearances in the majors with the Chicago Cubs and
Tigers, the 28-year-old Rapada has held left-handers to a .235 (12-51)
batting average, while going 3-0 with a 4.94 ERA.
Also on Monday, the Rangers announced that right-handed pitcher Willie Eyre
has been outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he has accepted that
assignment.
Eyre appeared in 17 games for the Rangers last season and pitched to a 4.50
ERA.
