[投書] 直鐵貫通東台灣

世界最長五十七公里與覆土最深達二三○○公尺的聖哥達基鐵路隧道終在本月初開通,並於瑞德法義等四國元首一起搭車共同見證以時速二五○公里穿越該隧道不到二十分鐘。這雙孔鐵路隧道不只是項極傑出工程成就,對於地中海連貫歐洲本土運輸的便捷與致力減少空氣污染、保護山嶺區及提升觀光旅遊價值等帶來極重要的正面提升,並讓整個歐洲中南部各國人民更加凝聚一塊。亞洲的日本新幹線也在今年三月,通過世界第二長的五十四公里青函海底隧道,貫通津輕海峽到函館了,讓北海道與本州兩大島快速連貫一起。
台灣東西部受中央山脈與雪山山脈的阻隔,造成宜花東的建設往往較西部落後數十年,但也因這樣開發遲緩與建設不足,讓東部還能保有台灣天然景致與西部人紓壓的秘境,故其開發模式就要避免引進西部負面的方式。台灣興建高鐵之提議始於一九八○年代,今年七月一日南港站將通運。
台灣東西部串連之交通建設選擇,何不引用日本與歐洲的成功案例以直鐵來一次就做對與做好?用高鐵以最小曲率六五○○公尺與標準軌寬一四三五公釐等直鐵方式導入東部,從北宜與屏東等分進合擊來南北共建,讓遲來四十年的鐵路電氣化環島建設,一次就以國際標準來做定位,彌補東部人民數十年的等待,正好展現新政府之施政能力。
