Important Notice: QUT Power Outage
Please take the time to read the following announcement
On the weekend of the 28th & 29th of June 2003, Energex will be performing
essential electricity grid maintenance (short term power outage).As a result,
ALL Central IT Services will be powered down and unavailable from ALL locations
for the entire weekend commencing at 6pm Friday 27th June.
There are risks associated with powering down central IT infrastructure and as
such there is no guarantee that all Central IT Services will be restored by
start of business on Monday, 30 June 2003.
All IT services will be affected and will be unavailable for the entire weekend
starting 6pm Friday 27th June.
These services include (but are not limited to):
QUT Virtual
Webmail (including any redirects from Webmail to other Email Service providers)
Internet Access
OLT
Q-Dial
QUT Websites
Central Printing Services
Local Faculty hosted Services/Websites/Server Access
Gardens Point Impact:
The GP Campus will be physically closed to all Staff, Students and Visitors
on Sunday, 29 June 2003. Security staff will be actively patrolling the
campus to prevent unauthorised accesses during this period.
Computer labs and libraries will be closed for the entire weekend.
No building access on Sunday by any student or staff member.
Kelvin Grove, Carseldine, Margaret St and Caboolture Impact:
The power outage impacts ALL IT services, and as such the Libraries and all
Computer Labs will be closed on these campuses for the entire weekend.
