For a guy who takes heat for his lack of communication skills,
Pistons coach John Kuester was pretty clear Wednesday.
活塞隊教練John Kuester很清楚他被稱為缺乏溝通技巧的人…
Previously when a player did something that would lead to
diminished playing time, Kuester would brush off questions,
calling those internal matters.
之前只要發生事情，球員上場時間就會被調動、甚至被冰。
Kuester一律把這稱為『內部運作』。
But when addressing Rodney Stuckey's absence from the two
previous games before Wednesday's victory over the Nets,
Kuester spoke frankly.
但當被問到冰Rodney Stuckey的原因時，Kuester第一次解釋了。
"Rodney Stuckey is an integral part of this organization, OK?" Kuester said.
"And I think it's important that messages have to be sent, all right?
Kuester:「Rodney Stuckey是我們團隊的一份子好嗎？
而我也認為我要傳達的訊息他已經收到了！」
"This game is a very simple game. ... It's not about one individual.
It's not about any individuals at all; it's about being a team.
We have to stay disciplined."
「簡單來說……比賽不是個人秀，也不是靠單打獨鬥就能打的；
它是需要團隊合作的。我們得要有嚴明的紀律。」
It was probably one of Kuester's most open moments with the media
publicly as he nears the end of a tumultuous two seasons where he
has crafted a 54-106 record.
Kuester兩賽季的戰績是54勝106敗。他的一舉一動也將受到媒體放大解讀。
That number is the main reason it's hard to find anyone who thinks
Kuester will return for the final year of the three-year deal he
signed when he was hired in the summer of 2009.
他是在2009年夏天簽下三年約來當教練的，而這戰績也就代表他續留活塞隊
的可能性越來越低……
Whatever his fate, Kuester seems determined to try and do things the right way.
無論如何，Kuester似乎鐵了心要做他認為對的事。
He defended his habit of not telling players when they had fallen
out of the rotation -- using Will Bynum's strained calf as a reason
all players must stay prepared.
他依然不提球員輪替原因，只以Will Bynum大腿拉傷的事舉例要所有人處於備戰狀態。
"That's why you keep telling people that you don't tell a player that
he's out of the rotation or whatever, because anybody that has a
uniform on has got to be ready to play," Kuester said.
"So if you tell somebody he's not going to play, then all of a sudden
things like Will Bynum; guys get hurt and that's why I keep
communicating with you guys about that."
Kuester:「這就是我為什麼不跟任何人提輪替的事，這樣他們才會每個人都
在備戰狀態。如果你跟a球員說不讓他上場，偏偏這時候你要用的
人…像是Will Bynum這樣的球員卻受傷了，到時候反而騎虎難下。」
