that electrons are emitted from the plate P and collected by C
a) Inthe process a single photon gives up all its energy to a single
electron. The maximum possible kinetic energy of the photoelectrons,
(1/2)mv(max)^2 is related to the energy of a photo, hf,
by hf=(1/2)mv(max)^2+ψ . What is the physical meaning of ψ ?
b) Plot the relation between the current measured by A and the applied
voltage V at two light intensity I1 and I2 (I2>I1) . Discuss your curves
especially discuss why the current vanishes at the same applied voltage
V0 for both curves .
c) Discuss why an experimentalist can measure the Plank's constant from the
relation between V0 and f .
