Example 1:
Assume the piezoceramic sensor BM400 Type I dimensions W=12.7mm, L=38.1mm,
T=0.5mm). The catalog parameters are g31=-10.5E-3 (Vm/N), E=8E10 (N/m^2) and
c=11.95E-9 [F/m]
Calculate : (a) the capacitance C, (b) the piezoelectric coefficient d31 and
(c) the voltage V when the sensor is subject to a 10^-6 [m] axial
deflection.
Example 2 : Accelerometer Transducer
Given data : m=10^-3 kg, b=0, k=7.74*10^10 N/m, cWLg33E=1.16*10^-2 C/m,
Rc=10^10Ω and Cc=10^3 pF, calculate
(1) the steady-state voltage v response to an acceleration step input of
magnitude a=2 [m/s^2];
(2) the time constant.
