[徵求]Postdoc at Washington U in St. Louis
代Po
Two postdoctoral positions will be available after Dec 2016 in Rui Zhang's
group at the Washington University in St. Louis. The lab will be in the
WU School of Medicine (WUSM) (https://medicine.wustl.edu/). WU currently
ranks #11 in Biological Sciences and #6 in Medical School (research) by
USNEWS.
WUSM will have a brand new FEI Titan Krios (equipped with Cs corrector,
Volta phase plate etc) and a K2 direct detector installed in early 2017.
Besides plenty of access to the Titan Krios in the near future, a JEOL-1400
microscope is currently available for sample screening. WUSM also offers a
state-of-the-art facility for cellular imaging (http://wucci.wustl.edu/).
Dr. Zhang did his Ph.D. with Prof. Wah Chiu at Baylor College of Medicine,
and his postdoc with Prof. Eva Nogales at UC Berkeley. Both Profs. Chiu and
Nogales are members of National Academy of Sciences and leaders in the
cryo-EM field.
Dr. Zhang's group will primarily use high-resolution single particle
cryo-EM, together with other biophysical techniques, to study the structure
and function of macromolecular complexes in the cytoskeleton system. There
will also be plenty of opportunities to work on various protein complexes
through local collaborations within the WU campus.
The candidates must have (or expecting) a PhD or equivalent degree in
biological sciences. Two types of qualifications are preferred:
1) Demonstrated expertise in protein purification from various expression
systems
2) Demonstrated experience in single particle cryo-EM or cryo-ET
To apply, please email your C.V. and names of your references to
