When that fact was pointed out to Marion in the Mavericks' locker room, the veteran forward turned reflective. "I grew with this city; it grew with me," Marion said. "It's a big part of me. It's not every day you can spend 8½ years with a team. On two occasions, Marion helped the Suns get to the Western Conference finals, including against Dallas in 2006. But he didn't get to the NBA Finals until last season with Dallas. "I could have gotten one here," he said. "That was the biggest thing that hurt more than anything. I wish I had brought a championship here."
