The season went really well and I enjoyed everything. I love all the guys on the team and people I worked with. The season ended and things kind of changed a little bit. My contract negotiations didn't go quite as I expected and at the same time, Doug Collins left TNT to go coach the Sixers and that (TNT) job opened up. From there, it just sort of happened. I didn't anticipate it but it happened. There were some difficult decisions I had to make that I wasn't always thrilled about but I think every GM can probably say that. I wouldn't read too much into it. It's just one of those things ... There's a lot of emotions involved in this business. Sometimes you think things are going to go one way and maybe they go a little bit differently. And then all of a sudden, the season ends and you have new opportunities and that's basically what happened with me. We talked about it all year long. We really wanted Amar'e back. If the price was too much though, then it didn't make sense. And the main reason was the injuries. He's had four knee surgeries, including a microfracture. You've seen what's happened the last few years with guys like Tracy McGrady and Jermaine O'Neal , the guys who came out of high school and play huge minutes right away. Their clock ticks a lot faster. They get to 29, 30 and all of a sudden they really start to slow down ... I think he's got a few really good years left in him. We had something lined up with Golden State where we were going to trade Amar'e for the pick and I think it was (Andris) Biedrins, (Brandan) Wright, (Marco) Bellinelli, something like that. And the reason was there was no secret that we were going to probably lose him at the end of the year and he'd come off what was a subpar year for him. We loved (Stephen) Curry coming into the draft. We had him third on the board so we didn't even think he'd be there seventh. We thought he'd be Nash's eventual replacement and kind of our cornerstone point guard for years to come. We had negotiated it. It was a major issue when we'd have conversations with teams. They were scared because they knew he was going to be a max guy. It was the same reason we were concerned. It was just health reasons." 阿罵一斤多少錢？（指去年）我想一次microfracture＋三次關節鏡手術的傷病史是買家退卻的主要原因。想要他的球隊知道他會要求頂薪，所以在談判中健康問題一直是主要議題。評語：傷病真的很可怕，去年健康未明的阿罵僅換到選秀權＋Biedrins＋Wright＋Bellinelli。要注意，選秀權當初是沒有預計選得到Curry的。 Wright＋Bellinelli事後來看都對球隊無助益，Wright傷病不斷職業生涯岌岌可危， Bellinelli則是水土不服，有一場沒一場的龍套球員。 Biedrins也是傷病的問題。你知道嗎，Biedrins過去兩年只出場95場，共缺席69場。且傷後一直沒有恢復原來水準。你要嗎？至少在此時，風險太大我不要。 Biedrins的進攻也大有問題，加上極糟糕的罰球，太陽現階段並不急迫需要他。板友不要擔心太陽資產不夠，目前Biedrins身價正處最低點，且身上又有高額長約。是我們要不要的問題，而不是換不到的問題。 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (on the Suns' new look) "I like them on an individual basis. I'm curious to see who it's going to work out playing time-wise because they do have multiple wings and multiple repetitive guys ... They could've sat out this year, taken their lumps and then been one of the biggest free agent teams on the market next year. But that's a scary thing to do too, because as some teams found out this year, that doesn't mean necessarily you're going to get your guy and next year's free agent crop is not that great." 看好新太陽嗎？基本上個人喜歡這支球隊。不過.................... 我很好奇上場時間如何分配，新太陽有太多側翼球員，且位置重疊現象嚴重。或許太陽目前著眼於來年的FA市場，想大幹一票。但不要忘記，明年的市場大咖不多，且不是你有空間你有籌碼你就可以獲得你想的球員。這樣做有其風險。 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (on the Suns' lineup) "They're going to have to play him (Hedo Turkoglu) at four a lot, which will compromise their rebounding and their defense. So they'll have to run a lot and they'll be good at that because (Steve) Nash is the best in the world at uptempo basketball. I think the Suns will be good. The questions is: 'Can they be better than just good? Can they take that next step and advance in the playoffs?' That's where guys like (Hakim) Warrick and (Channing) Frye and the front line, Robin Lopez, they're going to be tested because their rebounding and defense is going to be tested because their rebounding and defense is going to be an issue." 太陽的陣容分配 Hedo會主打大前鋒位置，為了彌補Hedo籃板跟防守的不足，太陽將會重祭七秒之內的高速跑轟大旗。有Nash在，跑轟就在。但問題是：「太陽會變的更好嗎？」我想籃板與防守是否有人可以挺身而出才是關鍵。註：還蠻酸的。 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- (on Nash going without a championship) "Steve always makes the best of whatever's there. I think he'll enjoy this season. I think they'll be good. I do feel bad that more than likely Steve will never win a championship because there's not a player or an athlete on Earth who deserves it more than him because of just the commitment, the work ethic, the constant commitment to excellence. The guy is probably the most amazing athlete I've ever seen in my life, just with his preparation every day. (Over Jordan?) Yeah, I think Michael was maniacal in his work ethic. Steve is that but he's also very intellectual about the approach. He's constantly searching for ways to get better through diet, through training exercises, through his mental approach. He's also as humble of a human being as you're ever going to find.
