這種新技術名為“桑迪亞散熱器(Sandia Cooler)”,
學名為“空氣軸承熱交換器(Air Bearing Heat Exchanger)”。
該技術的特點就是讓原本靜止的散熱器鰭片高速旋轉,以加快熱量的散失。
據實驗室的研究人員稱,目前風冷散熱器真正的熱交換瓶頸不是熱管或金屬的熱傳遞效率
,而是附著在散熱片上的靜止空氣(dead air)邊界層,即使是使用風扇進行主動散熱,
這個靜止空氣邊界層是依然存在的,而且厚度足以影響整個散熱器的散熱效率,因此
他們打算讓散熱鰭片旋轉起來,利用離心效果將這個邊界層的厚度削減至最小。
