As a result, they dropped an 84-75 decision to Dallas Tuesday night in Conseco Fieldhouse. Dirk Nowitzki scored 31 to lead the Mavs, who never trailed. As a result, they trailed 66-55 heading into the fourth and 71-57 with 10:20 remaining. But Danny Granger, making his first career start, sparked a 12-2 run with both energy and production, scoring five points and pulling two key offensive rebounds as the Pacers closed to 73-69 on Fred Jones' jumper at 6:02. Ron Artest scord 15 with five steals, but was 6-of-15 from the field and pulled just two rebounds. Granger's first career start was productive as he had nine points and seven rebounds.
