Job Overview:
DSFederal is looking for a professional Drupal Web Developer who:
Enjoys working on a small team and is excited to make highly customized web
apps
Can visit the DSFederal office frequently to become acquainted and
collaborate with the team
Is local to the Washington, DC metropolitan area
Has a strong grasp of Drupal development techniques and always stays on top
of the latest development best practices and tools
Responsibilities:
Develop custom Drupal 7 themes
Performance tuning and testing Drupal 7
Participate in design and architecture of software to meet business
requirements.
Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet aggressive deadlines
Educate team members on Drupal best practices
Manage Git flow process
Address bugs as they come in
Some content administration
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience with the front-end development of website projects
At least 2 years experience with Drupal CMS and at least 1 year with Drupal 7
Knowledge of Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, HTML5, CSS2/3, JavaScript, XML, JSON,
front-end libraries
Responsive design, cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, approaches
to theming, QA procedures
Expertise with Drupal 7, experience with views, contextual filters and
relationships and other contributed modules, Drupal 7 theming and template
over-riding
Familiarity with Git version control and Git flow best practices
Experience working in a design-focused collaborative team environment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with localizing Drupal websites
WordPress (as a CMS)
JBOS and Flex experience
Prior Agile environment experience
As a Drupal Web Developer, you will:
Work collaboratively with the development team to get a feel for and learn
about the current development process
Clone Git code repositories and configure development environments running
Drupal projects
Create, implement and edit Drupal templates
Help setup and run projects in production environments on LAMP environment
Write complex Drupal apps following client specifications while maintaining a
high level of unit test coverage to catch and prevent feature regressions
Deploy your changes to development servers frequently so clients see progress
and feel connected to the process
Perform code reviews and use the Git flow branching model to stay in sync
with the team
