Our team is working on building infrastructure on Medium range routers. The
work covers both on Linux and IOS side. Lots of system level programming (C,
shell script mainly) and architecture knowledge is required. You can learn
and experience lots of things here for sure. The manager is a wonderful
person. Workload is not that heavy. The location is in San Jose (next to

Cisco seeks a Software Engineer to be part of design, development and
engineering of IOSXE infrastructure used in Cisco ASR 1000 platforms and Next
Generation ISR platforms. The ideal candidate provides a demonstrated ability
for code development with minimal supervision, working with cross-functional
team and leveraging technical knowledge.
Specific requirements:
‧ Hands-on experience with core computer science concepts – algorithms,
software designs, functional decomposition, system modeling, interface
definitions, complex state machine implementations, inter-process messaging.
‧ Good programming experience in C, scripting languages.
‧ Good working knowledge in Linux environment with deep exposure to
debugging, analysis of complex problems, Linux memory management and other
typical Linux infrastructure.
‧ Good working knowledge of Linux Inter-process communications,
multi-threading primitives and concurrency.
‧ BSEE/CS combined with 4 - 7 years or or MSEE/CS combined with 1 - 2 years
of software development experience in embedded environment
General Requirements:
‧ Good L2-L3 networking knowledge sufficient enough to understand enterprise
networks, topologies and interaction with higher networking layers.
‧ Thorough understanding of software development and test processes, with
active participation and results from such practices.
‧ Independent, proactive and influential, with very good communication
skills.
