According to Magic Coach Stan Van Gundy, he reminded the team they just weren't very good. "He was absolutely right," Van Gundy said. "We have to be honest with ourselves, we're not very good right now. Forget all the excuses and everything else, to a man, and as a group and as a coaching staff -- I mean, no question, I didn't have anything tonight either, we're just not very good." "And that could be a very good starting point if we're honest enough and we quit with all the excuses and we quit with thinking that it's just going to come as you go." In both Sunday's 28-point loss to Oklahoma City and Wednesday night's loss to Cleveland, Orlando fell into a double digit deficit early and couldn't find its way out. Now the team has to figure out why that happened. Defense has been Van Gundy's key point of emphasis for weeks. He hasn't been happy with it all season. On Wednesday night he called on Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson to lead the change. Van Gundy said point guards have had big games opposite Nelson, mentioning Russell Westbrook, Raymond Felton and Cleveland's Mo Williams, who made all nine of his shot attempts in the first half. As for Howard, who led the league in rebounds and blocks last year, Van Gundy expects to see more of that. "I mean the guy averaged 14 a game last year," Van Gundy said. "Go check the numbers the last five or six games, he's not rebounding, he's blocked one shot in the last three games." "You can put yourself in a hole, continue to get better. "It’s a will as an individual. Can’t point the finger at one person.
