After making 14 three-pointers in his first seven NBA
seasons, Nuggets forward Eduardo Najera added a new
dimension to his game and went 53-of-147 from long range
in 2007-08. Rocky sportswriter Aaron J. Lopez caught up
with Najera to talk about his perimeter proficiency and
the upcoming NBA playoffs.

1When did coach George Karl give you the green light to
shoot the three?
Preseason.

2Really?
Yeah. He said he would rather me shoot the three than
the 20-footer. I don't know if that's the green light,
necessarily, but I kind of saw it as a green light and
took it from there.
Q2:真的嗎？
A:是阿，他說與其在離籃框20呎處投籃，他寧願我投三分。
我不知道那是不是就是許可，但是我把它當成許可然後從那
裡出發。
3Did George ever flash the red light?
At one point, he didn't give me the red light, but he
was telling me more to take it to the rim, not to fall
in love with it, which he's right. I was drifting away
from finishing off around the rim. I used to be pretty
good at that.
Q3:Karl教練有給過你禁令嗎？
A:有過，不是禁令啦，但是他跟我說多把球帶到籃框下，不
要愛上投三分，他是對的。有時球還沒進到籃框裡就失敗了，
我之前很常這樣。
4Are you going to lobby to be in the three-point contest
during All-Star Weekend next year?
You've got to get an invite. You've got to be somebody
that is marketable.
Q4:你有想要角逐明年明星賽的三分球大賽嗎？
A:你要有邀請，也就是要很有市場地位。
5Aren't you marketable?
I am in Mexico, but not here in the U.S.
Q5:你沒有市場地位嗎？
A:在墨西哥是啦，但在美國就沒有了。
6You guys won 50 games this season, but do you remind
your teammates that you won 60 with Dallas in 2002-03?
Oh, yeah. That's something to be proud of, 60 wins. Hell,
yeah, I let everybody know.
Q6:你們這球季贏了五十場比賽，但你還記的在2002-03球季你和
隊友們在達拉斯贏的六十場比賽嗎？
A:喔有阿。六十勝真的是讓人很驕傲的東西。該死，對，我讓大
家都知道。
7Do you feel more optimistic about your playoff chances
now that you open with the Lakers rather than the San
Antonio Spurs for the third time in four years?
Obviously, it's going to be really tough to win in L.A.
We haven't shown that we are a great road team. We're
going to try to play to our strength and run against L.A.
and try to get easy buckets. We'll see. It's going to be an
interesting series.
Q7：在季後賽面對湖人而不是前四年有三次對上的馬刺，你覺得
有比較樂觀嗎？
A:想當然，在要在洛杉磯取得勝利真的滿難的，我們好像還沒顯
現出我們是很強的客隊。我們會努力地奮戰和奔跑來對付湖人隊
，看看會不會有優勢。走著瞧吧，這會是很有趣的對戰。
8What one talent does Lakers star Kobe Bryant have that
you wish you had?
Athletic ability and his 50-inch vertical.
Q8:像Kobe這樣的球星，有什麼才華是你自己想要擁有的？
A:他的運動天份，他可以彈跳五十吋的能力。
