Under Baker, the Reds made it to the postseason in three of the last four years, even if they failed to advance past the first round. While the Reds initially portrayed Baker’s dismissal as a mutual parting, Baker reiterated he wants to continue managing. Baker suffered a mini-stroke last September before he returned to manage in the playoffs. He said the health scare prompted him to better take care of his physical condition.
