[新聞] Hughes questionable for Game 1 start

NEW YORK -- Yankees right-hander Phil Hughes continues to feel the effects of
back spasms and is considered questionable to make a start in Wednesday's
doubleheader against the Rays.
After consulting with head athletic trainer Gene Monahan, Yankees manager Joe
Girardi said that he was unsure if Hughes would start the first game of a
day-night twin bill as originally announced.
"I'm not sure if he can make his start [Wednesday]," Girardi said. "That's
the report. I'm still going to have a little hope that he can. We'll see how
he feels in the morning and then we'll go from there."
The Yankees plan to start left-hander CC Sabathia in the second game. Hughes
felt the spasms during a bullpen session in Toronto on Friday, pushing back a
start that had been set for Monday against the Twins.
Girardi would not discuss his alternate options if Hughes were unavailable to
start. It is possible that Andrew Brackman or Dellin Betances could make their
big league debuts to help the staff get through the doubleheader.
"We're just going to wait," Girardi said. "If [Hughes] can't start the first
game, he can't start. We're going to figure it out."
