有一個小插曲
Meanwhile, in a totally random event today, former St. John’s coach Lou
Carnesecca was on the same flight from Cleveland.
Coach was coming back from a clinic he did for Nike. My first job out of
college was covering UConn basketball for a paper in Connecticut and he was
one of the great characters of the Big East at the time. He was a great coach
and a funny guy, a real New York legend.
I went over to say hello and we had a nice conversation. Carnesecca is 82 now
and a huge Yankees fan. “You watch,” he said. “They’ll get back in this
thing. Joe Torre is from Brooklyn, St. Francis Prep. I remember when he was a
kid. He knows what to do.”
