Stray Dog
One day when Teresa and her daughter Eva were on their way home, they saw a stray dog. He looked so thin as if he almost starved to death. He was busy looking over a trashcan for something to eat. It was in the evening, when people called it a day and went home and birds returned to their nests. The homeless dog seemed to be especially lonesome at that time.
Other than feeling sympathy for the dog, Teresa also worried that it might be caught and put to death. She even foresaw the pale color on his face. Then an idea occurred to her.
Teresa decided to bring the dog to an animal shelter. Though he was extremely dirty, but they didn’t mind. The dog had a bath and looked totally different. Then they gave something to eat. The dog gobbled down and wagged his tail to show he was happy. And everyone laughed. They felt a sense of fulfillment that differed from any other things. Helping others can be so happy. That’s what Teresa didn’t foresaw but enjoyed. We should all help others we can help.
